Cedar Rock Country Club opened in 1965. A group of local businessmen envisioned the club and the surrounding neighborhood with a focus on Hibriten Mountain as the centerpiece.
The group commissioned Ellis Maples to design the 7,153-yard championship course with Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass greens to provide a scenic and challenging test. The course is nestled within the Village of Cedar Rock with beautiful views of Hibriten Mountain and surrounding landscapes. Cedar Rock Golf Course has been host to many state and local tournaments and countless charity events and member functions.
The Clubhouse also opened in 1965 and serves as the heart of all activities. There are multiple dining and meeting rooms to accommodate large or small groups. The Lounge is a lively spot and has always been a great place for members and guests to mingle and socialize. On the lower level is the Golf Shop and Grillroom as well as men's and women's locker rooms.
Cedar Rock Country Club is truly a showcase of the Foothills, and we look forward to having you visit and enjoy our amenities!
9 Holes Walking
In 1969-70, Golf Digest Magazine recognized Cedar Rock as "One of America's Top 100 Courses." In 1970, Cedar Rock ranked #3 in the state of North Carolina right behind Charlotte Country Club and Pinehurst #2.
The championship layout has lush Bermuda fairways and superb Bentgrass greens. We have an excellent practice facility with two practice tees, a chipping, pitching, bunker area and large putting green.
The course offers five sets of tee markers to accommodate all levels of players and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Truly one of western North Carolina's finest courses.
